This vintage postcard features a detailed photochrom illustration titled "Pretty Models," part of the well-known "Landor's Cat Studies" series. The image displays two fluffy long-haired kittens—one grey and white and one tabby—posed in a studio setting with a small, rustic wooden wheelbarrow adorned with a red ribbon.
The photographer, E. Landor (an Englishman from Ealing), was renowned for his skill in photographing notoriously difficult subjects and bringing "the art to a degree of perfection". The postcard was published by Raphael Tuck & Sons as part of their "Art" Series. This particular design (Series number 6469 or 864) dates back to the "Golden Age" of postcards, around the early 1900s, with some examples postmarked as early as 1906.
